If you are a single woman, it's a good idea to have a "hello, I'm your neighbor" type conversation with any male strangers you encounter in your daily life.

This is to see if they are a potential ally in a potential future "danger" situation, not necessarily a love connection.<br><br>Example: the guy who works at the grocery store and always tries to "upsell" things to you and act friendly. Or the guy who is walking his dog in the neighborhood and asks to see your face when you're in your pajamas answering the door (not making that up, happened to me).<br><br>The beauty of it is that you don't even have to realize it was an ally who was "helping you" until after they have helped you. Just ask them how their day/day week/month/year is going. It should only take a few seconds.
