Question about gun laws in the future?

I have a question. I am 23 years old, and in the next 15-20 years I’d like to make my way back to the pacific northwest. My whole family lives there, and after being away from it for a few years, I miss the greenery and weather.

I know that right now the pacific northwest is pretty strict on guns. You have to be 21 to buy a handgun, you have to do a background check for private party sales, and you can’t carry a gun without a license.

I was just wondering, do you think all states will have the same strict rules in the future or do you think some states sill be more lenient on guns than others. I’m just wondering because right now I live in Texas and you can basically carry wherever you want.

Thanks!

Edit: thanks for the feedback everyone. I’ve lived in both liberal and conservative states and I feel like you can get good advice and perspectives from both sides!
