My wife told me to fuck off so I did. I went to the moon.

It was my birthday and my friends were throwing me a surprise party. It caught me completely off guard, and the moment I saw my wife walk in with the big smile on her face I knew that she was in on it. I admit we hadn’t been having a good time as of late but with that one look I felt like everything was okay.<br><br>That was until she yelled “Surprise” and walked off. She left as soon as her friends did, leaving me with some unanswered questions. <br><br>I ran after her but she was already well on her way to being gone. I wasn’t a dumb man, I knew what that meant. I caught up to her in the car, put my hand on the door to stop her from leaving. <br><br>“I’m sorry” she said, not looking at me.<br><br>“What did I do?” I asked, and she just looked at me like I had slapped her.<br><br>She told me she had done so much for me and that I couldn’t return the absolute bare minimum that a partner is supposed to. I argued I had given her everything she had ever wanted. Maybe I should have just let her go. <br><br>“You want to know what I want?” She asked me.<br><br>“Yes, tell me.”<br><br>“I want you to fuck off!” She screamed at me, pealed out of the driveway and drove away.<br><br>She wasn’t home when I woke up, my birthday was over and I had a very short list of people I could turn to.<br><br>“Hey, buddy. Happy birthday, you up?”<br><br>It was my friend Eddy, I answered with an affirmative and he told me he was on his way over. I sat on the couch until he got there, I didn’t have much of a choice in the matter we had a trip to go on. <br><br>Eddies a rocket scientist, so was I. After years of working on government projects, we had our own businesses. Eddies company built the rockets, mine built the crew habitats. We had partnered up to send a ship to the moon to see how we would handle a long duration spaceflight before we went further out. Three others would be going with us, Jammy the engineer, Lea the doctor and Fred the astronomer. We spent the morning packing and getting our gear together, Night was setting in the last time I saw our planet. <br><br>The rocket shook violently on the way up, but Eddy said it was normal so I trusted him. He was right, we made it to the moon a few hours later. <br><br>We stepped outside and everything felt lighter, it was like there was a big weight off my shoulders. I saw a flash of light, like a camera and looked over to see Lea taking a selfie. It was such a stupid thing to be doing but it made me laugh.<br><br>[email protected]<br><br>[email protected]<br><br>I’ve been on the moon for a few days now, I think. They were saying 14 hours to a day but I think that’s bullshit. I’m not sure though, this place is really starting to fuck with me. I tried to email Molly again, it’s definitely not 14 hours to a day here. <br><br>I went into the crew habitat and caught Lea fucking Jammy. She’s married, not that I was trying to care. I just walked away. <br><br>[email protected]<br><br>[email protected]<br><br>As much as I try I cant stop thinking about Lea and Jammy. I walked into the habitat again and caught them in the shower. I tried to move past and and got caught again. Lea came out onto the ramp, she was dripping wet frantically trying to cover herself. <br><br>“I thought we were a secret, Jammy.” She said, but Jammy didn’t reply, he just kept his head down.<br><br>“I thought we were a secret, Jammy.” She repeated.<br><br>Then Jammy exploded into a rage, I knew he was a mean drunk but I didn’t know he was this mean. He told her he was married and that she was his little side piece. He told her he didn’t even like her. <br><br>He told her to never speak to him again. He told her to never go near his wife. He told her to never go near his kids. <br><br>Then he said he wished she would just die and as soon as he said that she did. <br><br>She just fell over and died. I couldn’t believe my eyes, I don’t think I ever would. I wasn’t even sure I was seeing it. I wasn’t even sure I was there at all. <br><br>Jammy poked me and I came to, I hadn’t seen it. <br><br>“What’s going on?” I asked, trying to act dumb. <br><br>“Just get out of here” he said, “me and Lea are going to the moon.”<br><br><br>[email protected]<br><br>[email protected]<br><br>I’m alone now, it’s not like I had too many people to turn to. But I was alone now, everyone was gone. I was in the habitat, I saw Fred out the window. He was collecting samples. I looked again, Lea was out there too. I had to go outside and see for myself, they had to be traps. <br><br>It was so hot outside, the temperature bar on my visor read 600F. I passed out and when I came to Jamie was pulling me across the ground. <br><br> “What?” I said. He ignored me so I asked again with more attitude. <br><br>“What?” I said louder.<br><br>“What the fuck are you doing you idiot! You almost died out there” <br><br><br>[email protected]<br><br>[email protected]<br><br>It’s been some time, I have no idea what day it is but I know that it’s been more than 14 hours for every day. I’ve decided that I’m going to go to the lander and see if I can fix it. I walked and walked and it seemed like I got nowhere. There was just too much debris between me and where I needed to go. As I walked the temperature rose and I watched as the bar ticked higher and higher. It got so hot that I saw the treads on my boots begin to melt. I knew I needed to go back but the habitat was miles away. I reached out my hand and a gust of wind blew me towards the habitat, it was so strong I couldn’t have stopped myself if I tried. <br><br>When I got inside I passed out and as soon as I woke up I put on my suit again. After a few minutes I reached out my hand and another gust of wind blew me away. I was going the wrong way though, I was going farther away from the lander. I tried to stop myself again but it was too strong. <br><br>I landed face first into an old Apollo lander. I crawled into it, until I reached the control panel. I reached out my hand again, bracing for the gust that never came. I finally had something I could change. <br><br>[email protected]<br><br>[email protected]<br><br>I’ve been in the lander for almost a month now, it’s been the most peaceful time I’ve had on this planet. I can move around, I’m not some slave to the wind. My only problem is that I have no way to communicate with Earth. I hope Molly got my emails, I hope she knows what happened. <br><br>[email protected]<br><br>[email protected]<br><br>36th day in the lander, and I finally see my chance. A rocket is coming down, and a crew with it. I stand out, put my hand down to the ground and reach out with my other. I feel the heat on my side as the rocket lands. I stand up and reach the entrance to the lander and I see it. <br><br>My ship. <br><br>They must have fixed it, Mollie must have got my emails. I see Fred walk up to the window and look at me. <br><br>“Molly sent us.” He said. <br><br>I knew she did.<br><br>I reached out my hand again, I felt the gust of wind blow me to the lander, but not before I saw Lea and Jammy waving at me.
