Why do Americans hate Americans?

For context I’m Canadian. <br><br>I just saw a post that said “If someone says police are good, give them a white flag to wave” (that means someone is giving up) or something like that. Someone replied and said “This is the kind of person who will fight for the freedom to say whatever they want, but hates Americans” (I think it said) <br><br>It got me thinking, as a Canadian, what did we do to Americans???<br><br>Why is there so much hate? Why does it matter what we say if we’re Canadians??
