Hey Americans, what is it like to live in a country where the social-welfare system is so broken?

I'm Finnish and our social welfare system is as good as it gets. I can't even begin to imagine what it is like to live in a country where the system is broken and you would have to rely on your poor and tired job to keep you alive. <br><br>What is it like to live like that?
