Hey people, I’m from Israel and currently on a trip in the US. I love the country and I have been all over the world but some things in the US bother me. I would love to hear your opinions. I’m not trying to offend anyone or make anybody angry I’m just looking for some answers.

1. On my way to Las Vegas I had a stop in Salt Lake City. I saw some people on the street wearing T shirts with all kind of swear words and sexual stuff written on them. I’m not sure if this is legal everywhere but I saw lots of kids around. In my country this wouldn’t be legal at all.

2. I was filming a video in a park when some random guy approached me showing his privates. No police around to report this and no one stopped him. Just a sick person.

3. I was at a gas station in Utah, some random guy approaches me and asks me if I’m a Christian. I’m Jewish so I told him I’m not but he kept talking to me about Jesus for 10 minutes straight. Wasn’t in the mood and wasn’t feeling comfortable at all.

4. Prices are a shock to me. I’m from a expensive country but this is something else. To eat at a normal restaurant I paid 40$ for a single burger, at Wendy’s I paid 17$ for a chicken burger, fries and coke. The burger at Wendy’s was smaller than my palm…I take tips into consideration but it’s still very expensive.

5. Tipping culture. I gave a 15% tip at a restaurant, the waitress asked if everything is okay…I thought I did something wrong… she told me I tipped her too little. I’m used to tipping 10% in my country.

6. I’m currently in Flagstaff which is pretty close to the Grand Canyon, the biggest attraction in the US. So many people from all over the world walk around here. Some people approached me asking if I speak English, if I can help them with directions. I feel that the city is not prepared for tourists. We walked to a restaurant that had a huge sign saying “all you can eat BBQ $42” we came in, you can only eat at the bar. If you take a table it’s not all you can eat… hilarious.

7. When I ask people at information centers, tourist information centers, people at the hotel and locals for help I get very short answers. Even the people working at the hotel try to avoid talking to you. They don’t care if you are lost or need help. No smiles. I travel a lot but this is something that I’m not used to.

8. Back to the restaurant in Flagstaff…I asked our server what meats are served at the all you can eat BBQ. He said it’s beef, chicken and meet with a lot of sauce on it… I asked what kind of meat is it… he again said it’s meat with a lot of BBQ sauce on it. I asked him again what is in the sauce…he said BBQ sauce, it has a lot of BBQ sauce and some meat in it. I have to admit…I laughed.

9. I drove from Las Vegas to Flagstaff and it was very confusing. There were two gas stations, one on either side of the street. Both were the same gas stations with the same prices …one was called Cheveron and the other one was called Texaco. Not sure why…I’ve never seen this anywhere.

10. At the hotel I’m staying in,… Flagstaff Inn, there are 3 buildings…one is the reception, one is the pool/Jacuzzi and one is the restaurant…I tried to get into the restaurant to ask for some information about Flagstaff… I need to swipe my room keycard to get in. I’m not sure if this is legal and if you can prevent someone from going into a closed space for eating…..

That’s all I have for now. Every person I talked to who visited Israel told me it was an amazing country so I’m not trying to offend anyone. Thanks for reading and thanks for your opinions in advance.
