I’m an English teacher

Hi, I’m an English teacher. I teach English as a second language, to children, mostly teenagers. I’m a native English speaker, from the UK. I live in a European country so I don’t have to deal with Brexit. Sometimes I complain about my job. Sometimes I love it. But I really love my students. I’m not sure I’m cut out for this job, but it’s the only thing I’ve ever wanted to do, and it’s hard to find a job in education. I’m not good with young children so it’s good that I teach older students. I’m actually quite a bad teacher, so I compensate by being very nice. This is my diary as an English teacher, in a foreign country.
