My dad said a sentence that was completely out of character and sounded like something a programmed robot would say

My dad is an extremely kind and gentle man who also happens to be a very devout Christian. He goes to church every Sunday, prays a lot and reads the Bible a lot. One time, something very weird happened with him. He was talking about how much he loved everyone and was very sad that some people didn't know God and that made him worried for their souls.

Then he said: "But it's not up to me to decide who will be saved; that's God's job."

That sentence sent chills down my spine because it was completely out of character for my dad to talk like that. He's always been a very emotional person who loved to help people. He used to work in a food pantry, volunteered at the local school, goes to nursing homes and visits the elderly, etc. So for him to suddenly say it wasn't his job to decide who was saved was very jarring and made me feel like he wasn't himself. It was like his body was taken over by a robot or alien or something.

He has never said anything like that before or after that time.
