When a Facebook friend compared Israel to apartheid South Africa…

I was on a Facebook post one day when someone that I knew in college posted in the comments that Israel is racist against the Palestinian people. I decided to do what I always do in these situations and respond to the comment with facts to show that Israel is not racist. I asked where they had heard that Israel was racist and they said that they had heard that Israel is racist in the same way that South Africa was. I knew that they had never been to Israel and that they had never even been to the Middle East, so I asked them if they had ever even been to Israel to witness the supposed racism firsthand, and they said they had not. I then decided to call them out for taking the word of other people without having personally visited Israel to see how things truly are. Here was my full comment:<br><br>Israel is not racist and if there is anyone here that does not believe me, then get on a plane and witness it for yourself. No one in Israel cares about the color of your skin or your religion. The only people that Israel has a problem with is anyone that wants to kill its citizens. I used to hear people say that Israel is full of racism towards the Palestinians, but I had never been to the country. Once I visited Israel and saw how great of a country it truly is, I realized that I had been lied to. So, I ask everyone here that opposes Israel to take my advice and visit Israel. Once you visit Israel, you will realize how blessed that we are that this great country exists in the Middle East. <br><br>I love you all and have a great day.
