“Something is happening that the sports world has never ever seen before…"

This is a quote from the NFL last week. I guess I could work in some NFL reference by saying Pickup is like the opening round of the playoffs like my Patriots are playing today. And I guess it’s possible for the Pats to lose, but not really. Like Pickup, it’s over before it even began. The NBA is probably more apt. The Celtics and the 76ers are vying for the last spot in the playoffs, so each has a Pickup. That’s kinda like what the Celtics are doing. They suck. But like the 76ers, the Astros are really good. And they pulled it off in game 7. That’s kinda like what Pickup is. A once in a lifetime event. The other sporting reference I can think of is that Pickup is like the Superbowl for the Royals. We only have a Pickup once every ten years or so. It’s the World Series. The Stanley Cup. The NBA Championship. The World Cup. We work all year towards this moment. And then we lose in the first round. (Go Pats!) So why do it? Because it’s fun. And the kids like it. So the next time you are going to complain like a little baby about it, just remember how much fun you have when the Patriots beat the Bills and go on to win the Superbowl. This is that feeling for us. Oh, and to all of you that think you are so smart by trying to game the system. You are not. We know who you are. We laugh at what you try to do to “win.” You are a bunch of idiots and did you happen to notice the word in bold? It’s **fun**. So stop acting like assholes and play along. **This is for **SENIORS** only! If your name is not on the list, you are a **FRESHMAN!** Go away now.** Once again, **WE Pickup ON MEMORIAL DAY MONDAY!!!** Which means the Seniors come to the parking lot at 9:30am sharp ready to rumble. Any Senior not here will be docked 1 pt immediately. 2 pts if you are late. If you have any appointments, play hooky. It won’t matter. Your points will be so low, you won’t even have a chance and you won’t be able to miss the class anyway. Any Senior not in Gym by 10:30am will be considered absent. Yes, even if you were here earlier. Any Senior **missing Gym** on Monday **will be docked 10 pts!** So don’t even think about it. We will be taking attendance at 9:30am in the parking lot, so Pickup will actually start at 9:40am. **THE PARKING LOT WILL BE OFF LIMITS TO JUNIORS!** So if you are a Senior driving off campus, use the Durham Rd lots. **ANY SENIOR CAUGHT IN THE PARKING LOT WILL BE DOCKED 5 pts!** Do not park your car in the parking lot. If you have your car, you are to go home IMMEDIATELY! The only Seniors allowed on campus are those walking to the bus. **ANY SENIOR THAT IS WALKING TO THE BUS MUST WALK ALL THE WAY TO THE BUS!** If you are walking to your car, it will not matter because you will not be on the bus under any circumstances. If you are walking to your car and happen to find your car already gone, turn around and walk your ass back to the bus. **ANY SENIOR HANGING AROUND CAMPUS WILL BE DOCKED 5 pts!** So if you have your car, just go home. But if you really want to stick around, there are plenty of other places on campus you can hang out and won’t be penalized. You just cannot be in the parking lot or on the bus. Which brings us to… **NO JUNIORS ARE ALLOWED ON THE BUSES!** If you are on the bus, you will be sent back to class. If your Senior somehow magically ends up under your jacket, purse, backpack, etc. it will not count. If you happen to meet up with your Senior while walking to class, turn around and go back to class. You must go back to your original class. You cannot go to another class. If your Senior is hiding in another classroom, go to your original class anyway. If you are walking to the bus and happen to run into your Senior along the way, turn around and go back to class. **Any Junior on the bus or hanging around campus (excluding the cafeteria and Commons) will be sent back to class and the Senior will not count!** We will have teachers walking around campus and on the buses. If you are caught on the bus, you will be sent back to class. If you are caught hanging around campus, you will be sent back to class. And your Senior will not count. **YOU HAVE BEEN WARNED!** So if you are going to game the system, make sure you know the rules! And if you are going to try to game the system, make sure you know the consequences! **Any Junior caught gaming the system will be docked 10 pts!** So now that we have all the rules out of the way, I’m sure you are all wondering who made the list.
