What are the repercussions of the US pulling out of Afghanistan

I have been reading about the US pulling out of Afghanistan. I was a kid when the invasion happened but from everything I've read it seems very close to the pull out in Vietnam just before the fall of Saigon. What will be the repercussions of this? Will the Taliban take over the country? How will it affect the everyday person both in Afghanistan and the US.
