AITA for telling my husband he has to go back to being full-time dad?

(Throwaway because YNA got locked down before I could post this. Some logomorphism for fun)

Hi! So, my husband and I have two kids, a boy and a girl. My husband, "Tom" was supposed to go back to work full-time once our son was three months old but as luck would have it, he was in a accident at his job and has been unable to return. He was in the hospital for six weeks, lost both his legs. He is back home now. He has been here for 6 months now and it's been hell.

I've had to just completely take over taking care of everything. He has no work and no way of contributing to our household except for being a full time parent. I'm pretty sure our son now has some insecurities towards his dad because he is scared of him. I've had to take care of the house and all the cooking and chores on top of our two year old daughter. I'm at my wit's end.

The other day Tom and I had an argument about how he's not helping. He told me he was a single dad right now and it's up to me to teach our son how to be independent. He doesn't see how this is temporary, he has no job and no way of getting a job. I told him he had two weeks to get our son used to doing stuff on his own and if he didn't I'd get a job so he can go full-time dad again once I'm working.

Tom thinks this is unfair and said I was trying to emasculate him. AITA for giving him a deadline?
