The United States is not a democracy. Stop saying it is.

I am sick and tired of hearing people claim that the US is a democracy, and that we need to protect said democracy. We are not a democracy. If anything we are an authoritarian oligarchy. We have been conned by the elite to believe we have a voice in this country when we dont.<br><br>I cannot stand the patriotism and lack of criticism of our government, from citizens. We dont have a direct representation of people in our government, which is the definition of a democracy. Furthermore, we dont have a parliament to represent our citizens. We dont have proportional representation. Our country is an oligarchy, meaning a small group of powerful people, aka politicians, have all the power. The citizens have very little power over this government.
